Pennsylvania German Coverlet Makers in the Middle Susquehanna Valley
Researchers of textile history looking at Pennsylvania German migration in the 1700s and 1800s have named some key master weavers. Families and communities moved north along the river into counties like Snyder, Union, and Montour. They brought strong German weaving traditions and complex textile patterns with them.
